Tri-Knights Campus Clean-Up

Here's the picture of the UCF TriKnight Triathlon Club and the trash some of the members collected this past Saturday moring in their Trashy Tempo Run. The students met at Lake Claire at 9 a.m., and teams of three ran for one hour wherever they wanted on campus collecting trash. The only rules were that they had to stay on campus and they couldn't take trash from a trash receptacle. I gave each team 3 bags for trash and one for recyclables and many teams came back several times during the hour for more bags. The team that collected the most trash won some really nice prizes and we had drawings for other prizes.

The photo doesn't do the collection justice. All of the clear bags are sitting on a mound of dark bags. There was much more trash than the picture suggests.

It was a good service project and the kids had a lot of fun doing it. We look forward to doing this again next year.
