Brent Boomstrom
9/22/2007

The UCF women’s club tennis team was impressive this weekend with Corri Ray and Leanne Yarn going 5-1 at the FSU Doubles Championship. The UCF A team took USF to a third set tiebreaker and was edged out by a score of 11-9. Kim Vuille and Danille Bianculli went 2-2, eliminated by an unfortunate early meeting with the UCF A team. Meighan OConnor and Julie Love worked hard taking the eventual champions USF to 6-4 in pool play.

The men’s team fought hard for every win this weekend. Chris Yarn and Brent Boostrom went 5-2 on the weekend, including an epic comeback after being down 6-3 to FSU and coming back to win 9-8. Adam Gault and Kenya Davis held their own by going 3-2. Matt Yelkin and Ryan Hoffman played well and earned two wins this weekend. Kurt Westerlund was not able to defend his back draw title from last year without brother Neil, but played well with new partner Michael Bourgault in their first tournament together.

The next tournament will be October 13th in Gainesville. GATORBOWL!
