Disney Wide World of Sports Event

The Butokukan Club represented UCF in an international tournament at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. The Disney Martial Arts Festival featured competitors from all over the world, including England, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. In 18-29 beginner forms division, Reynald Canta took first place; he also took first place in point sparring male 18-29 division. Canta received one of the highest scores out of all the competitors in traditional forms. In the advance sparring male division, Michael Sterkel took fourth place. Sterkel competed against the top fighters in the Mexico team and in the Puerto Rico team. CJ took third place in advance forms and first place in advance point sparring. Samantha Mousset took first place in intermediate traditional forms. Over all Butokukan took home four gold medals, one bronze and one silver.
